Master of Engineering Degree in Industrial Engineering (MEDIE), established in 2011, is a two-year full-time professional master's degree. It depends on Management Science and Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, as well as Computer Science and Technology, focuses on studying production systems, comprehensively applies theory and methods of engineering technology, modern management technology, system science, computer and information technology, and social science, studies integrated system composed of staff, material, equipment, energy and information, offers system design, analysis, evaluation, optimization and innovation, as well as systematically solves its engineering and management issues to reduce the operational cost, to enhance comprehensive efficacy, to improve quality and to increase profits. It covers four specialty directions: Production Management System Engineering, Information Analysis and Service, Logistics Engineering, and Modern Business Process Engineering.

 The faculty of MEDIE is composed of 8 master supervisors including 3 professors and 5 associate professors, all with Doctorate Degree. There are, currently, over 10 graduates. It has already enrolled over 30 students with 100% employment rate.

 MEDIE of South China Agricultural University takes advantages of its accumulations of talents and scientific research in multidisciplinary fields including Machine Vision, Big Data Analysis and Decision, Smart Agriculture, as well as Information Behavior and Service, and has accomplished 6 national research projects and over 20 provincial level research projects.
