The South China Agricultural University, the College of Mathematics and Informatics, and the College of Software Engineering are the South China Agricultural University, both of which are co-located. The School of Mathematics and information science was founded on December 16,2014. The Software Institute was established on April 19,2004, is one of the first provincial demonstration software institute construction demonstration sites.

Within three years, teachers published 78 papers on Teaching Reform and compiled 12 textbooks. Since 2015, our hospital has successfully applied for 28 items of “teaching quality and teaching reform project” , including 10 items of provincial quality project. “The higher education teaching reform project” establishes 46 items, including the provincial level teaching reform project 8 items.

The college has won 3 scientific research awards at the provincial and ministerial level and above: the cultivation and application of a new high-efficiency lean-meat type breeding pig line, which was participated by Associate Professor Yan Shangwei, and won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award. The school actively promotes the evolution of representative projects, such as the Robust and Drone Studio (RDS) and Human Computer Interaction Studio (HCI) , from spontaneous interest groups to the permanent residence of teachers with relevant research expertise, students also from the beginning of the undergraduate students gradually into undergraduate and graduate students participate in the MODEL. (1) International Collegiate ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest

An annual competition sponsored by the International Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) to showcase the creativity, teamwork and ability to program, analyze and solve problems under pressure of university students. As the contractor of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, we actively seek professional talents, through systematic training and practice, for all levels of competition seed player reserve.

From 2006 to 2018, ACM/ICPC university students in the program design competition, a total of 242 awards above the provincial level, including 106 national level. The ACM team has been to the “ACM ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest” world finals three times. In the 41st-43rd competition, our students won 5 gold, 17 silver and 13 bronze, the number of medals and gold medals continued to lead the country’s agricultural and forestry colleges and universities. (4) Microsoft’s Innovation Cup

In the 2020 Microsoft “Innovation Cup” , a globally influential student science and technology event, the “Los Angeles Lakers” team from the 404 image processing lab of our college worked its way to the top 20 of the national competition in the provincial competition, and won the third prize in the National Competition, ranked fourth in the good results.

In March 2016, our student Lin zisen founded Maxtron, which was accredited by Blackbox, an international incubator for entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley, and became one of the 10 teams in the national training camp for Silicon Valley. In March 2017, Meichuang team, as the first group of college students in south China to start their own businesses, boarded the entrepreneurs’ meeting hosted by the CCTV-2, the project to “accelerate the transformation of the traditional shoe industry by introducing 3D printing technology” has been a success. In 2019, the team’s “Meichuangzhi shoes” project won the fifth China “Internet + ” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Gold Award, and made zero breakthroughs in our school’s gold award, making the best result in history, it shows the spirit of the students of agriculture, mathematics and credit, to be persistent and to scale new heights.
