Welcome to College of Mathematics and Information (College of Software Engineering) of South China Agricultural University.

College of Mathematics and Information (MIC) of South China Agricultural University (SCAU) was established in January 2015 in accordance with the SCAU's discipline adjustment, covering three disciplines: Mathematics (including Statistics), Computer Science and Technology (including Software Engineering Cybersecurity), Management Science and Engineering (including System Science); two First Level Discipline Master's Degree Authorization Centers: Mathematics and Computer Science and Technology; three majors for Professional Master's Degree: Computer Technology, Industrial Engineering, Agricultural Information; and undergraduate majors: Mathematics (including Financial Mathematics), Information and Computer Science, Statistics, Computer Science and Technology (including sino-foreign joint class), Network Engineering, Information Management and Information System, Industrial Engineering, etc.

To improve the current level of the discipline steadily, MIC merges Mathematics, Computer Science and Technology, Management Science and Engineering; it establishes seven research teams, namely Mathematical Analysis and Application, Complex Data Modeling and Analysis, Graphics and Computer Vision, Data Science, Internet of Things Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Information and Management Engineering focusing on information technology application; and it owns Youth Commando team, comprised of 28 young PhDs, which does scientific research under the leader of professors.

College of Software Engineering (SEC), established in 2004, is Guangdong Demonstrative Software College, collaborating with MIC. It enrolls Software Engineering Majors (including Wens and Ali innovation class), upholds the principle of innovation-driven development and facing the demand of software advanced application talents of Guangdong Province and China, and fosters relating talents by taking reform and innovation on teaching methods, teaching contents, curriculum system and management system. It cultivates high level, practical and engineering talents in the demand of the industry through adopting personnel training experience of software engineering talents in China and aboard, setting the personnel training scheme in accordance with the demand of the industry, forming flexible curriculum system, implementing systematic engineering training, putting forward as well as carrying out practical training mode of Software Project Reproduction, fostering students' innovation, entrepreneurship, as well as engineering practice ability. Besides, MIC cooperates with famous companies in China and aboard, as well as national-level training base to realize its personnel training concept of Enterprise-University-Research institute.

MIC (SEC) of SCAU is running under the mode of college coordination, the professor academic management, the guidance of the academic authority, teamwork and the Youth Commando team. Welcome talents in China and aboard, who are interested in teaching and doing research in the field of Mathematics, Computer Science and Technology, Management Science and Engineering, to join MIC of SCAU and to contribute to the construction and development of relating discipline of SCAU.
